An Important Notice Regarding Your Cheques


The Canadian Payments Association (CPA), a Federally regulated association legislated to control the Canadian cheque clearing and settlement process, has made changes to the format required for all cheques issued in Canada. This change has been in effect since January, 2005.

Our cheque provider, Davis & Henderson has been printing compliant cheques since April 2005. If you have not ordered new business cheques since April 2005, you will need to order cheques through the Nipawin Branch.

If you order your cheques through a supplier other than Davis & Henderson, you will need to confirm with your cheque supplier that they are or will be compliant with the new rules and will be able to provide you with the "new format" cheques. The deadline for compliancy, for business cheques, to the new Standard has been extended to September 2, 2008.
