Credit Union Day 2020

Since 1948, International Credit Union Day has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October.

Each year, International Credit Union Day events gives us the opportunity to remember credit unions’ proud history and promote awareness of and support for the credit union and financial cooperative difference.

As financial co-operatives, those who bank with credit unions also are owners, which means they have a say about the way their credit union is run. This approach is one of the many reasons why credit union profits are going back into the hands of more than 5.6 million Canadians, and
re-invested in community causes at rates more than five times that of the big banks.

This year, Credit Union Day is on October 15th and will look a little different as we are unable to gather with our members celebrate.

DNCU is truly committed to the well-being of our communities and recognizes the importance for emergency critical care operations.

In lieu of holding Credit Union Day events in our branches, on behalf of the Membership of Diamond North Credit Uion, we have chosen to make a donation of $2,000 to STARS Air Ambulance!

We may be keeping our distance, but we can still stand together!

Let’s work together to support an organization that serves us all and has our physical health as top priority!

With STARS, those living in rural communities, working in remote areas, travelling on highways or being transported from community hospitals to major medical centres, receive the very best in critical care via helicopters staffed and outfitted as mobile ICUs

STARS carries out an average of 2,969 missions a year within the prairie provinces!

We would like to encourage you to make a donation of your own
and in doing so, you will be entered to win a cash prize
of $200 or a secondary prize of some DNCU Swag!

Choiceland Skating Rink Donation

On Friday, July 17, DNCU staff were proud to present a (socially distanced) $10,000 donation to the Choiceland Skating Rink's Shingle Repair Project.

Pictured here is Mitch Bond (committee member) accepting the donation from DNCU's CEO Colleen Harmatiuk and staff members Wendy Pistun, Kristin Alcock and Brandy Burka.

The Choiceland Skating Rink is an important part of life for Choiceland, Snowden, Garrick and surrounding areas. These funds will be use to replace and repair the aging roof of the building.  We are proud to provide this donation for the well being of the building for years to come!
