Producer Savings Account

AgriInvest accounts are producer savings accounts that provide coverage for small margin declines.  Producers make deposits based on a percentage of their allowable net sales and receive matching federal and provincial government contributions.  Producers have the flexibility to withdraw the funds at any time to cover small margin declines or for risk mitigation and other investments.

  • AgriInvest Deposit Notices will be mailed to producers starting in July 2010 and will include an Account Initiation form.  Producers complete the form and present it to any branch of Diamond North Credit Union to open a new AgriInvest account.  Existing AgriInvest funds held with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) will be transferred to the new account.
  • Eligibility - Individuals, co-operatives and corporations are eligible if they have reported farming income (or loss) to the Canada Revenue Agency for tax purposes. Status Indians farming on reserves in Canada are eligible for AgriInvest as well.
  • Any amount up to the Maximum Matchable Deposit may be deposited by the deadline as indicated on the AgriInvest Deposit Notice.
  • AgriInvest accounts are self-managed. The producer has the flexibility to withdraw from the account at any time.
