What's Happening for Credit Union Day 2021
Credit Union Day is is held annually on the 3rd Thursday of October and on this day, we typically celebrate the credit union difference!
Since we are unable to hold our usual in-branch events we have decided to do something a little different.
DNCU is truly committed to the well-being of our communities and recognizes the importance for emergency critical care operations.
In lieu of holding Credit Union Day events in our branches, we have chosen to make a $2,000 donation to STARS Air Ambulance on behalf of our members!
We may be keeping our distance, but we can still stand together! We are taking this opportunity to support an organization that serves us all and has our physical health as top priority.
With STARS, those living in rural communities, working in remote areas, travelling on highways or being transported from community hospitals to major medical centres, receive the very best in critical care via helicopters staffed and outfitted as mobile ICUs. STARS carries out an average of 2,969 missions a year within Saskatchewan!
Diamond North Credit Union Board President, Greg Pagan and CEO, Colleen Harmatiuk, present a $2,000 donation on behalf of our members.
All Diamond North Credit Union branches will be closed on September 30th
Diamond North Credit Union supports and respects our Indigenous members and will be closed on September 30th to allow time for reflection and commemoration of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Through awareness training and meaningful discussions, we will begin to understand the impact our colonial history had on our Indigenous families and communities and how we move forward together.
Diamond North Credit Union will recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by reflecting on the legacy of Canada’s history including residential schools and treaties. Throughout the month of September, we will take the opportunity for our employees to learn more about this important conversation and the significance of this day.
All of our employees will complete the 4 Seasons of Reconciliation course through the First Nation University of Canada as a first step in furthering our education.
Diamond North Credit Union is committed to do our part and uphold our responsibilities as a society to promote inclusion, education and reconciliation within our communities.
2021 Order of Merit Recipient
Congratulations to our 2021 Order of Merit recipient, Hughene Day!
This award recognizes the hard work and dedication of Hughene to the credit union and her community.
Hughene was a Nipawin Credit Union and Diamond North Credit Union Board Member for 18 years and is a strong believer that a community rich in volunteers is a wealthy community!
Service Delivery Model Changes
After thorough analysis and careful consideration, Diamond North Credit Union (DNCU) has made the decision to undergo a restructuring to provide a more suitable service delivery model to its members based on member behaviors and needs.
Our members have embraced technology requiring continual investment in our digital channels, where close to 95% of all financial transactions now occur. We continue to see in-branch traffic decrease at all our branch locations with the adoption of online and mobile offerings.
Along with investing in more specialized staff roles and digital banking options, these restructuring changes include closure of the Albertville and Zenon Park branches and moving three DNCU branches to part time hours.
These changes take effect July 2, 2021.
New hours of operations for the part time branches will be as follows:
We have also adjusted our hours of our Debden and Big River branches slightly to align with the rest of our locations.
Effective July 2, 2021 their hours will be:
Monday - Thursday: 9:30-4:30
Monday - Thursday: 9:30-4:30
We empathize with all members and communities impacted. We understand how difficult it is to see businesses close in communities.
Through our new Regional Business Model, we plan to expand on building strong member relationships to help our members find their “financial success”.
We are committed to being there for our community partners by providing funds and volunteer hours for local initiatives through our Community Enrichment Fund.
